Blasorchester PingPong Live with Costa Rica!

The National Band of Limon, donated by Robert Gifford

The voestalpine Blasorchester will perform a Brass Band PingPong live with the National Band of Limon from Costa Rica on the 14th of August, starting 7pm.

80+1 is very proud to  have the National Band of Limon as the partner of the voestalpine Brass Band. Following the spanish tradition, the National Bands used to have militar features belonging to the Ministry of Public Security. Their role was to join and praise the militia. Many years later, after the army abolition in Costa Rica, the National Bands became part of the Ministry of Culture which rest there until present. Belonging to this Ministry, the Bands have reached artistic cultural and social recognition, keeping the principal goal by which they were created: arouse the interest of citizens about musical culture through the various musical outreach programs throughout the country. The National Bands continue their sorong national development bringing art and culture to the people of Costa Rica. The music professionalisation in the last quarter Century has developed an inmensurable interest in musicians to learn and improve their performance not only as musicians but as artists.

The sound of the Ensembles from Costa Rica and Linz will spread on the main square of Linz and take us on a Journey: to the place we are connected to and back to the place were we are starting from.
